Actress Claire Danes tells sources her biggest regret is that she did not finish college. The Golden Globe award-winning actress started working on a psychology degree, but never completed it.

Danes, 31, who gained her fame as a teenager in My So-Called Life, took a break from acting in 1998 to study psychology at Yale University, but quit after two years.

Claire told sources, [when asked what advice she would give her younger self] “Go to college, actually. I didn’t finish. I only went for two years but those two years were really good for me to just step away for a little bit and grow up without the prying eyes of the public and all the judgment that accompanies it. So that was good, and I don’t know.”

Danes won the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a TV movie for ‘Temple Grandin’ last night. She also told sources that she took time from the lime light to have a “normal” life and that is when she started her education.

She also explained, “I started working when I was very young. I got an agent when I was 12 and fortunately was employed consistently from that point on. So I didn’t really go to a conventional high school. I was tutored on sets and things.”

Dane is not the only actress who chose to put her career on the back burner and work on her education. Some of the stars who chose this path as well were Natalie Portman, who completed her psychology degree at Harvard and Emma Watson [Harry Potter star] is studying English Literature at Brown University.
