Zelda Rubinstein, best known for her role as a phychic in the 1982 film ‘Poltergeist’ has died at age 76. She died at the hospital after suffering a heart attack. Her first major role appearance was as a munchkin in the ‘Wizard of Oz.’

Jean Simmons Dies - 80

British actress Jean Simmons had died at the age of 80.

As a teenager, she appeared opposite Laurence Olivier in “Hamlet” and emerged a star whose career flourished in the 1950s and 1960s in such films as “Guys and Dolls, “Elmer Gantry” and “Spartacus.”

Simmons, who won an Emmy Award for her role in the 1980s miniseries “The Thorn Birds,” died Friday evening at her home in Santa Monica, said Judy Page, her agent. She had lung cancer.

Alien screenwriter Dan O’Bannon dies aged 63

Sci-fi screenwriter Dan O’Bannon, whose film credits include Alien and Total Recall, has died aged 63.

The Writers Guild of America confirmed he passed away on Thursday in a Californian hospital.

He began his career in 1974 with the movie Dark Star, which he co-wrote with director John Carpenter.

O’Bannon continued writing sci-fi and horror pictures including Invaders from Mars, Bleeders and The Return Of The Living Dead, which he also directed.

Ted Kennedy dies at 77

Mass. Congressman Ted Kennedy died today after battling terminal brain cancer. He was 77. He represented Massachusetts in the US Senate since 1962.
