Gibson calls reporter - Ahole
February 5, 2010 by m.coonce · Leave a Comment

Mel Gibson’s recent outburst, where he called WGN TV reporter Dean Richards an “a**hole” after he was questioned about his 2006 DUI arrest, has followed him across the Atlantic.
During an appearance on French TV show “Le Grand Journal,” Mel was asked he if came with any “French curse words for French journalists.”
“No,” he said, in good spirits. “It usually comes out in English if I’m angry. I have a short fuse. I’m trying to work on it.”
Richards asked Gibson, “Do you think that the public will perceive you any differently after all that’s been in the news about you?”
“What are you referring to specifically?” the actor, responded with a laugh.
“Referring to the drinking problems, referring to the, what’s been called, the anti-Semitic rant,” reporter continued.
“That was almost four years ago, dude. I’ve moved on, I guess you haven’t,” Mel fired back, adding that he felt the public had forgiven him for the incident. “I certainly hope so. It is awhile back. I’ve done all the necessary mea culpas, so let’s move on, dude, come on.”
After a sign-off from Richards, Gibson – perhaps thinking the cameras were off – then said, “a**hole.”

“Heroes” TV actor Adrian Pasdar — the husband of Dixie Chicks singer Natalie Maines — has been arrested on suspicion of drunk driving, police said on Wednesday.
Pasdar, 44, was pulled over before dawn on Wednesday after highway patrol officers said they spotted his truck speeding on a Los Angeles freeway at 94 mph and swerving between lanes.
“Upon contacting Pasdar, the officers noticed an odor of alcoholic beverage emitting from…within the vehicle” and determined the actor was under the influence of alcohol, the California Highway patrol said.
Pasdar was released early on Wednesday morning on $15,000 bail, police said. Celebrity web site TMZ.com said Pasdar had refused to take a breathalyzer test.
Pasdar played the mysterious Nathan Petrelli in the NBC TV drama about a bunch of superheroes. His character was killed off in November but may return for flashbacks.
He married country music star Maines, lead singer of the Grammy winning band Dixie Chicks, in June 2000, and they have two children.

A publicist for Artie Lange says the comedian and radio personality has been hospitalized.
In an e-mail sent Monday to The Associated Press, publicist Hilary Hansen declined to elaborate, saying, “Artie has chosen to keep all information on this matter between him and his doctor.”
The 42-year-old Lange, best known as Howard Stern’s radio sidekick, has been absent from Stern’s Sirius radio show for a month. On Monday’s show, Stern said Lange isn’t leaving the program and called him “a tremendous contributor.”
Lange, who lives in Hoboken, N.J., has battled drug addiction. In September, a New Jersey judge revoked his driving privileges for seven months after he admitted he was under the influence of prescribed sleeping pills in a minor traffic accident.

Lindsay Lohan may have been “in compliance” with the terms of her DUI probation, but a judge ordered the star to step up her alcohol education program classes.
I am going to order [that] this has to be done. It’s been long enough,” Judge Marsha Revel said at L.A. Superior Court in Beverly Hills on Tuesday.
Lohan, 23, who did not appear in court, must now start “attending every single week” in order to fulfill the more than six months of program time necessary by Revel’s deadline of July 15, 2010.
“This has to be a top priority whether she has a job somewhere else or doesn’t or something else comes up,” Revel said. “This has to be done once a week.”
The judge reiterated that Lohan’s other projects should not take precedence over her alcohol education program.
“Right now, the other things will take second place and this will take first place,” Revel said. (The next hearing date to assess Lohan’s progress has been scheduled for Feb. 18.)

The California Highway Patrol said Sunday that Pamela Bach was pulled over Saturday night just south of U.S. 101 on Laurel Canyon Boulevard. She was booked at the LAPD’s Van Nuys jail and released.
The patrol says Bach showed blood alcohol levels of .14 and .13 on a breathalyzer test. California’s legal limit is .08.
Bach was charged with misdemeanor hit-and-run in 2007, but the charges were dropped when she agreed to pay minor damages to the woman whose car she hit. She pleaded no contest to a drunken driving charge in August and was placed on three years of informal probation, court records show.
She was also ordered to go to a treatment program and not drive with any measurable amount of alcohol in her blood.
A phone message left for Bach’s attorney, Ronald D. Hedding, was not immediately returned Monday. She is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 24.
Bach was married to Hasselhoff for 16 years until he filed for divorce in 2006. She appeared as a cafe owner in several episodes of Hasselhoff’s series, “Baywatch.”

'That's Right, You Better Delete that Record'
Mel Gibson’s conviction in 2006 for drunk driving, has been expunged from his record.
The Oscar winner’s lawyer requested the dismissal after the star successfully completed the terms of his probation.
The star had been ordered to perform public service work and attend Alcoholics Anonymous for three years.
Gibson’s arrest sparked outrage after a leaked police report quoted him making anti-Semitic comments to the arresting officer in California, who was Jewish.
He has since repeatedly apologized for the remarks, saying his outburst did not reflect his true views.
