NBA star Kobe Bryant has become the first ever non-actor to have a Hollywood Walk of Fame star. Bryant is a basketball star who plays with the LA Lakers. Saturday afternoon the five time champion was the first athlete to be honored at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre.
During the ceremony Bryant said, “I feel like I’ve grown up in this city, and we’ve had a lot of ups and downs, but here we are-five championships, plenty of more to go, and I just feel extremely honored to be able to do this.”
Bryant reportedly told fans that he would not be pursuing an acting career anytime soon. The ceremony was hosted by Jimmy Kimmel who took some playful digs at Bryant.
Kimmel joked, “The closest Kobe’s come to acting is pretending he’s going to pass the ball to Luke Walton.”
The NBA star went on Sunday and took home his fourth all-star MVP award.
