Jake Gyllenhaal joins Bear Grylls on ‘Man vs. Wild’.

Jake Gyllehaal is teaming up with adventure and survival expert Bear Grylls for ‘Man vs. Wild’. The duo heads to Iceland where there are active volcanoes and massive glaciers all around them. The show will be the season premiere.

Grylls said the actor held his own during the week. Gyllenhaal said of the experience, “For me, it’s all about discovery.”

“The wild is always very revealing — not only physically but mentally. You’ve got to smile when it’s driving horizontal hail and be able to face your fears and just get on and do it — and on both of those accounts, Jake came up strong,” Grylls said.

In 2009, Grylls was joined by another celebrity, funnyman Will Farrell, in Northern Sweden.
The episode with Gyllenhaal will premiere on The Discovery Channel on July 11.

Jake Gyllenhaal and Taylor Swift call it quits

Jake Gyllenhaal, 30, and Taylor Swift, 21, have decided to call it quits. The couple was last seen together December 9th. Each of the stars Reps neither confirmed nor denied the the duo was actually a couple. Some speculate that it could have been a publicity stunt. However, a source close to the duo says “it has been over since last month”.

The tabloids were set afire this past weekend when 20 year old singer, Taylor Swift, and 29 year old Jake Gyllenhaal were seen hanging out in New York. The two visited the Saturday Night Live set and also shared brunch in Brooklyn. However, sources close to both Swift and Gyllenhall both told People.com that the two are friends and have no intentions of entering into a relationship.
