Jessica Simpson to star in reality TV show.

Sources say Jessica Simpson is heading back to her reality TV roots, bringing her fashion sense on a NBC new reality show, ‘Fashion Star’. Simpson will follow 14 aspiring designers which will be attempting to get funding for their own lines of clothing. Elle McPherson will reportedly be hosting the show and it will be taped in front of a live audience. Viewers will have the opportunity to purchase the winning designs after each week’s challenge.

The winner will receive a multimillion dollar contract to have their designs sold by three large American retailers.

The Jessica Simpson Collection is on its way to making a billion dollars in revenue for the singer.

“Jessica Simpson has built an incredible fashion business and is a perfect mentor to our aspiring designers,” said Ben Silverman, who will produce the show.

Simpson recently announced plans to team up with her sister, Ashley, and make a new tween fashion line.

Jessica and Ashley Simpson are starting a new project together. The Simpson sisters are creating a new clothing line for tweens. Reportedly, the new line will be part of the Jessica Simpson Collection and will feature sportswear and activewear witha “girly, playful attitude”.

The sisters will serve as co-directors of the line. Jessica recently told sources, “Creating a tween apparel collection was a natural extension for the brand. “I’m excited to bring my sister, Ashlee, along as co-creative director of this division, because she brings a savvy rocker edge that defines today’s tweens.”

Ashlee is just as excited as her sister and told sources, “My goal as co-creative director will be to design clothes that will help insire young girls to express their personalities and creativity through fashion.”

The line is set to be available in the fall.

Jessica Simpson’s Fashion Company Worth $1 Billion?

Say what you want about Jessica Simpson but the gal is the boss of a fashion company that is worth close to $1 billion dollars, with $750 million in sales in 2010 alone! She also recently announced that in the fall of 2011, she will be launching a sportswear line that will include separates and dresses in the $39 to $129 price range. Simpson said of the new line, “This new sportswear line reflects my evolving style, which combines comfort, femininity and flirty fun.”

Just a few short days after Jessica Simpsons ex - Nick Lachey announced his engagement to Vanessa Minnillo, do we hear that Jessica is also engaged! The 30 year old singer and actress is reported to be engaged to boyfriend of 6 months, Eric Johnson. A publicist for the couple told People magazine, “Yes, we are excited to confirm that they are engaged!”
