Penelope Cruz to play role of Blackbeards daughter in Next Pirates of the Caribbean movie

Jerry Bruckheimer has confirmed that Penelope Cruz has been casted for the role of Blackbeard’s daughter in the next Pirates of the Caribbean movie. “She’s the daughter of the bad guy,” Bruckheimer told MTV News. “She brings a lot of humor to it. And the fact that she’s so feisty.”

Ian McShane will play the role of Blackbeard and Johnny Depp is back in his famous role as Captain Jack Sparrow. We are told that Depp and Cruz’s characters do share some romance in the movie. Sadly, Keira Knightley and Orlando Bloom, who were featured in the first three films, will not be in this next one.

Filming is set to start in July and the plot centers around finding the fountain of youth.

Actor-director team, Johnny Depp and Tim Burton come together for the seventh time to film the Literary masterpiece, Alice In Wonderland. The move is due out March 5th and from the trailers, it will be as wacky as their other collaborations, including Edward Scissorhands and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Depp summarizes the duo’s vision best when he says they share a taste that is “slightly left of center.” Well, their slightly left of center taste is expected to be a big hit among movie critics.

Johnny Depp ‘Sexiest Man’ Alive: Again

Johnny Depp was named People magazine’s “sexiest man alive” for a second time on Wednesday, joining an elite club of double honorees that includes George Clooney and Brad Pitt.

People magazine described the swashbuckling “Pirates of the Caribbean” movie star as “the king of cool with the killer cheekbones”. Depp, who also took the title in 2003, succeeded 2008 winner Hugh Jackman.

Asked why Depp, 46, had won a second time, People senior editor Kate Coyne told the CBS Early Show: “He was sexy ten years ago, he’ll be sexy ten years from now. He appeals to multiple generations of women — and for many different reasons to different kinds of women.”

Depp’s recent roles include 1930s gangster John Dillinger in “Public Enemies” and the murderous London barber “Sweeney Todd”. His next screen role is as the Mad Hatter in director Tim Burton’s adaptation of “Alice in Wonderland” which is due for release in March 2010.

In real life, Coyne noted that Depp, 46, was also a committed father of two.

“He’s sort of everything,” Coyne said. “He’s a guy’s guy, kind of a bad boy, he’s a respected artist and actor. You know, he’s got a little bit of everything.”

Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis Getting Hitched

Johnny Depp is planning to marry his long-term girlfriend, Vanessa Paradis, in a private ceremony this spring, according to MTV.com.

Gossips sites began the speculation last month after he was seen in California shopping for an engagement ring. Depp has always maintained that “if she ever said, ‘Hey, let’s get hitched’, I would do it in a second.”

However, Paradis has frequently said she isn’t a fan of traditional marriage, saying she doesn’t understand how getting married could increase their love and commitments to each other.

Since they were reported to be getting married last summer, so we will have to wait and see if Depp and Paradis actually follow through this time.
