Jon & Kate Celebrate Kids Birthdays- With Civility

The blows that some predicted would get thrown at the Pennsylvania home of “Jon & Kate Plus 8″ apparently proved to be a lot of hot air. The reunion of the bickering couple went smoothly, according to reports.

Jon Gosselin told reporters camped outside the family’s property that he and Kate were “cordial.”

According to RadarOnline.com, Jon was set to leave after his two hours were up, but Kate intervened.

“No, Jon, you can stay as long as you like,” the gossip site quotes her as saying.

Entertainment Tonight reports the reality TV dad gave his daughter Mady a laptop, and Cara an ATV (which will arrive in a few days).

The two girls are turning 9-year-old.

Things seemed to be brewing in the days leading to tonight’s event when Jon told the press earlier in the week that his estanged wife was looking to limit his time with his daughters.

“She’s trying to prevent me from seeing my kids on their birthday because she doesn’t want to see me,” the reality show dad claimed on Wednesday in an interview on Entertainment Tonight.

The recent hostilities have come from allegations Jon stole $230,000 from the couple’s joint account.

As a result, Kate reportedly sent Jon an e-mail, asking that they split the evening up so the two would not have to be together. Jon, however, balked at the request.

“She can’t tell me what to do. I’m not going to allow it,” Jon spewed. “I’m just going to stay. I own the house so I can do what I want.”

‘Jon and Kate’ pulls 10.6 Million Viewers for Divorce Announcement

Jon and Kate Plus 8 pulled around 10.6 Million viewers for their “special announcement” show last night, which is a record for TLC.

Next week the show will take a look back at Jon and Kate’s journey, before the show goes on hiatus until August. TLC is reportedly giving the family time to figure some things out.
