Lindsay Lohan Skirts Jail Time

While the prosecutor pressed for another jail stint to address Lindsay Lohan’s latest probation violation, a Beverly Hills judge disagreed. Instead, he ordered her to remain in a residential rehab facility to continue drug and alcohol addiction treatment. She will remain at the Betty Ford Center in Rancho Mirage until Jan 3. She will also be subject to random drug testing after she leaves treatment until her Feb. 25 court date.
Judge Throws Out Several Charges Against Anna Nicole Smith’s Former Boyfriend

The judge presiding over the case against Anna Nicole Smith’s former boyfriend, Howard K Stern, dropped several of the charges against him. The prosecutors in turn have been accused of essentially overcharging him, however. The judge said that in the 622 jury trials he has presided over, there have only been three times where he was faced with “overzealous” prosecutors who “appeared to put winning above” fairness. The judge tossed charges against Stern for obtaining drugs by fraud and deceit as well as part of a conspiracy count against Stern, saying there is no proof of conspiring.

J Lo Finalizing Deal with American Idol?

The rumors are rampant regarding the two vacant Idol Judge seats. Apparently, Jennifer Lopez seems to be the front runner as one of the possible celebs to fill the 2 vacant Idol seats. According to TMZ.com, the contract could be finalized and “inked as early as next week.” The website also reported that Ildol considered J Lo to be one of their best mentors to appear on the show and said Lopez is a huge fan of the show so it is an easy fit.
Judge Tells Chris Brown He is Doing ‘Great’ on Probation

Chris Brown received high praise from the judge overseeing his probation. Superior Court Judge Patricia Schnegg told Brown, “You’re doing very well on probation.” She went on to say, “You’re doing a great job.” The judge said Brown was working diligently to satisfy his sentence, which includes six months of community labor service and to attend a domestic violence counseling program. The judge also commented on the positive reports she had received from that program.
Judge Presiding Over Lindsay Lohan Case Has Recused Herself

The judge presiding over the Lindsay Lohan case has removed herself over allegations of improper practices. According to TMZ, Judge Marsha Revel apparently contacted some medical experts in Lohan’s case without alerting the DA or Lohan’s lawyer. As such, the judge stepped down prior to the anticipated request to do so by Lohan’s lawyer. Great! The only judge holding Lohan accountable no longer presides over the case. Hopefully the next judge will follow in the same steps!
Pierce Morgan Being Considered to Replace Larry King

Who will replace Larry King on the Larry King Live show? Well, there are some rumors out there that CNN is seeking permission from NBC to speak with Pierce Morgan, a judge on the hit reality show, “America’s Got Talent,” about replacing Larry King. NBC Universal CEO, Jeffrey Zucker, recently said “Piers will continue on ‘America’s Got Talent’ for the next three years,” Zucker said today on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” program. “I can also tell you he has approached us about asking to do another job as well. Those conversations are continuing, and I don’t think those are mutually exclusive.”
Michael Jackson’s Doctor Allowed to Retain His Medical License

Dr. Conrad Murray was charged with involuntary manslaughter related to the death of Michael Jackson. However, the judge allowed him to retain his medical license, stating that he does not have the authority to suspend the his license. The judge essentially said his hands are tied, saying that due to a previous judge issued a ruling restricting Murray’s use of sedatives, any further restraint must come via an appeal to the initial ruling and not from a new decision by him.
