Katie Holmes sues magazine for article.

Actress Katie Holmes is suing Star magazine for $50 million in damages following the article that says Holmes is a drug addict.

“Of all the fabricated stories that continue to be published about me, this instance is beyond the pale. The publisher knew this outrageous story was false and printed it anyway to sell magazines,” Holmes said in a statement.

The photo the magazine used showed a tired and upset Holmes and the headline read: “Addiction Nightmare: Katie Drug Shocker! The real reason she can’t leave Tom.” The article never speaks of Holmes use of drugs, but rather focuses on an “e-meter” during Scientology sessions, which allegedly reflects past emotional experiences.

Holmes’ rep has said the actress was forced file suit “to vindicate her reputation after American Media refused to retract its vicious lies about her.”

“Star Magazine’s malicious claims about Katie are untrue, unethical and unlawful. Not only do they cruelly defame Katie, they play a cheap trick on the public, making ridiculously false claims on the cover unsupported by anything inside. Someone should bring a class action to get all buyers their money back,” Bert Fields (Holmes’ attorney) said in a statment.

Star Magazine told sources: “We have not been served with any papers yet, however Star fully stands behind the editorial integrity of what we have published concerning Ms. Holmes’ controversial use of the Scientology e-meter. The physical effect of the e-meter on its users is a matter of significant public concern, and we plan to vigorously defend the suit filed by Ms. Holmes. Our attorneys look forward to deposing Ms. Holmes about her experiences with Scientology and the e-meter, and expect that the case will be promptly dismissed by the court.”

Katie Holmes Takes Suri Shopping….Again….Looking a bit ragged and tired

Katie Holmes and Suri were out and about in LA this weekend doing what the pair do best….shopping. Every time the two are in the news, they are found shopping. Katie is looking ragged and tired in the photos and seems to appear unhappy. This comes amid rumors that there is marital trouble between Tom and Katie.

The History Channel just announced that Katie Holmes will play the infamous Jackie O while Greg Kinnear will play John F Kennedy in the miniseries, “The Kennedys.” Barry Pepper will play Robert Kennedy while Tom Wilkinson will play Joseph Kennedy. The 8 hour series will portray the Kennedy’s personal life as well as the major events of that time.

Katie Holmes Not Happy With Sex Life With Tom Cruise

Katie Holmes is reportedly unhappy with the amount of alone time that she gets to spend with husband Tom Cruise. 

According to the UK’s Closer Magazine:
 

“Katie has become noticeably more miserable in the last few months. She finds it incredibly taxing to lead a life that revolves around Tom but that doesn’t include enough intimate time with him to be genuinely fulfilling.

She doesn’t just want to go to red-carpet events with him. She always feels like she’s competing for Tom’s attention.”

Friends are also reportedly worried she’s close to a break down:

“Everyone is worried that she’s close to breaking point. Katie spends most days alone looking after Suri.  She’s a devoted mother, but it’s a lonely job.  She and Tom have such separate lives.”

Katie Holmes Ditches Her Hair Extensions

Katie Holmes stunned and impressed everyone earlier in the week with her $50,000 makover for the Valkyrie premiere in Japan.

Seems maintaining the look was too much for Katie to keep up with as the mother of a toddler, and she has taken out the extensions and gone back to her cropped locks.

Variety is reporting that Katie Holmes will star with Kevin Kline and John C. Reilly in the comedy, “The Extra Man,”, Extra Man is based on the novel by Jonathan Ames, the film follows a failed playwright (Kline) who works as an escort for rich widows in New York City.
