Who will replace Larry King on the Larry King Live show? Well, there are some rumors out there that CNN is seeking permission from NBC to speak with Pierce Morgan, a judge on the hit reality show, “America’s Got Talent,” about replacing Larry King. NBC Universal CEO, Jeffrey Zucker, recently said “Piers will continue on ‘America’s Got Talent’ for the next three years,” Zucker said today on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” program. “I can also tell you he has approached us about asking to do another job as well. Those conversations are continuing, and I don’t think those are mutually exclusive.”

Larry King recently posted the following announcement to his Twitter account, “I want to share some personal news with you. 25 years ago, I sat across this table from New York Governor Mario Cuomo for the first broadcast of Larry King Live. Now, decades later, I talked to the guys here at CNN and I told them I would like to end Larry King Live, the nightly show, this fall and CNN has graciously accepted, giving me more time for my wife and I to get to the kids’ little league games.” He went on to say, “I’m incredibly proud that we recently made the Guinness Book of World Records for having the longest running show with the same host in the same time slot. With this chapter closing I’m looking forward to the future and what my next chapter will bring, but for now it’s time to hang up my nightly suspenders.” The show is expected to end sometime this fall.

Rumors are flying around that the America’s Got Talent Judge/British TV personality, Piers Morgan, may be replacing Larry King. Apparently, Larry King’s show is down 43% from this time last year and CNN is getting nervous. However, other reports indicate that while CNN is talking to Morgan, it is not with the intent to replace King. The NY Post reported that CNN may be considering Morgan for a “possible panel show.” However, UK’s Telegraph reports that Morgan is being asked to replace Larry King and the show will follow his British Series, “Piers Morgan’s Life Stories.”

According to the police report, Shawn Southwick King appears to have attempted suicide. Her father, Karl Engemann was the one who discovered her semi-unconscious on May 28 and called 911. One officer’s report noted that notes found indicated that she “might hurt herself, such as that she wished to be buried in Utah.” It went on to read, “Wording on the letter led me to believe that [Southwick] had intentionally taken the quantity of pills.” Southwick’s father also told investigators that she is “always depressed, but she had not mentioned … that she would want to hurt herself or take her own life.” The report went on to state that bottles of prescription meds (including Compro, Prometrium, Clonazepam, Ambien, Klonopin, Subutex, Cymbala and Lyrica) were found on her bed, purse, and in the bathroom - many were empty. Southwick has battled prescription drug additions in the past.

Larry King weighs in on Prejean

'Me so Horny, Me Love You Long Time'

CNN’s Larry King, in Las Vegas on Thursday to emcee the “Rock for the Cure” fundraiser at The Mirage, said Carrie Prejean, former Miss California USA, “really hurt herself” with her actions on his show Wednesday.

During her book-promoting appearance, Prejean repeatedly invoked the word “inappropriate” when King asked what motivated her settlement of a lawsuit with Miss USA beauty pageant officials.

Prejean believes she lost her Miss California USA crown because of her opposition to gay marriage, but pageant organizers said she was skipping official events.

King said he was trying to be respectful of the terms of her settlement. But “I’ve been doing this for lot of years, and others have said, ‘I settled because I just wanted to put it behind me.’”

In a bizarre response that played out on national television, Prejean eventually removed her ear plugs and placed them in front of her and appeared to be seeking advice from a handler off camera.

“She could have said any number of things,” King told me. “She hurt herself.”
