Today marks the day that Lil Wayne will stop pressing for emergency dental work (it is reported he had 8 root canals in one day) and accept that he will be sentenced to one year in jail for gun possession. Of course, he will not likely spend one year in jail but is really looking at about 7 months if he maintains good behavior.
According to a prison guard, “He’ll be housed with inmates who are classified in his category, and he’ll be able to be a regular inmate, “He’ll be able to watch television, go into the day room and congregate with people of his classification.”

Lil Wayne, real name Dwayne Carter, pleaded guilty to charges arising from a 2007 arrest when a gun was found on his tour bus after a concert in Manhattan.
His sentencing has been rescheduled for March 2nd, so he’ll have time to get some dental surgery before going to jail. Odds are it won’t be that long of a sentence anyways.
Though that may be the case, at the end of March, he’ll be back in court, this time in Arizona, this appearance is from 2008, when police again found cocaine, ecstasy, and a gun on his tour bus.
Lil Wayne did post a video just before his court appearance asking fans not to forget about him…probably because he’s gonna need that fan money when he gets out.

The 27-year-old admitted attempted criminal possession of a weapon in a plea deal and will be sentenced at New York State Supreme Court in February.
The rapper - born Dwayne Michael Carter Jr - was arrested in July 2007 when a gun was found on his tour bus after a hip-hop concert in Manhattan.
His sixth album Tha Carter III was the best-selling album in the US in 2008.
The record won best rap album at the Grammy awards in February, where Lil Wayne picked up three other prizes.
Though, most people think his career will actually be enhanced, since the jail time will improve his street cred and he has recorded enough material to continue to release albums in his absence.
