Lindsay Lohan turns down plea deal.
Reportedly, Los Angeles prosecutors confirmed on Wednesday that Lindsay Lohan wants to go to trial in her felony grand theft case. The actress’ attorney, Shawn Chapman Holley, notified the judge that her client did not want to take the plea deal. The plea deal that she was offered included three years probation and jail time.
Lohan says she is not guilty. The actress allegedly stole a $2500 necklace from a jewelry store, which she claims was loaned to her.
The preliminary hearing is set for April 22 and Lohan, if found guilty, faces a maximum of three years in prison. Additional jail time could be added if the judge determines that she has violated her probation for her DUI which is unrelated to the theft.
Lindsay Lohan is given more time to think about her plea deal.

Judge Keith Schwartz has decided to give Lindsay Lohan two weeks to reconsider her plea bargain after the troubled actress all but rejected it.
During the hearing, Judge Schwartz told her, “if you and your counsel do not accept the plea deal, then you do not have to return to this court”. If she decides to reject the deal on March 25, there will be a preliminary hearing on April 22 in Judge Stephanie Sautner’s court.
The terms of the deal are not public, but Lohan was on probation in January after taking a $2500 necklace from a Venice jewelry store. Lohan plead not guilty to the charge.
Judge Schwartz was clear during their February 23 meeting, that there would be jail time, but sources say Lohan’s attorney is insisting on a deal with no jail time. If the case goes to trial, Lohan will be facing time in a California state prison with a maximum sentence of three years behind bars.
Lohan remains on probation for a 2007 drunk driving case. She was accused of taking the necklace on January 22, which was around three months after her rehab at the Betty Ford Center, which was court ordered.

Lindsay Lohan was not happy about the jokes made at her expense on ‘Saturday Night Live’ last weekend. Miley Cyrus hosted the show and had many people laughing, but according to sources, Lohan was upset that SNL used jokes about her recent legal woes.
Reportedly, Lohan sent an e-mail to the executive producer, Lorne Michaels, saying she did not appreciate the jokes. She felt betrayed and looks at Michaels as a mentor.
“I never stole a necklace or got a DUI / Never cheated on my wife like that golfer guy / So what if you can see a little boob from the side? / I’m sorry that I’m not perfect,” Cyrus sang.
Lindsay Lohan turns down plea deal

On Wednesday, Lindsay Lohan appeared in front of Judge Keith L. Schwartz, who offered the actress a plea deal. She faces charges for the stolen necklace as well as violated probation. Lohan turned down the deal and the judge informed her that would mean jail time. Another hearing is scheduled for March 10.
Judge Schwatz said in the LA courtroom, “I don’t care that you’re Lindsay Lohan vs. Jane Doe. It doesn’t affect me. This case does involve jail time. Period. If you plead in front of me, you are going to jail.”
Lohan and attorney, Shawn Chapman Holley, decided to push the case to another hearing rather than take a deal. Next time she is in court, the judge said, she will have to decide to settle or not to settle.
Judge Schwartz took some time to scold the actress and offer advice to Lohan. He also recommended therapy and psychological screenings to the actress and said she needs a sponsor who is not family. Lohan’s parents were there to support their daughter. Lohan’s father feels like the store where the necklace incident happened is setting her up to promote their store.
If this goes to trial and she is convicted, Lohan could be sent to a California state prison with a maximum sentence of three years behind bars.
The actress, who remains on probation in a 2007 drunken driving case, is accused of taking a necklace from Kamofie & Co. of Venice Beach, Calif. on Jan. 22, roughly three weeks after the actress was released from three months of court-ordered rehab at the Betty Ford Center.
A police report was filed the day of the incident, and authorities reportedly waited until she was photographed wearing the necklace until deciding to pursue charges. A friend of the actress turned the necklace in to the Pacific Division of the LAPD on Feb. 2.
Lohan’s lawyer, Champan, has denied the charges and the actress apparently claimed that the necklace was loaned to her — and that, unbeknownst to LiLo, her stylist simply forgot to return it in time. The star’s dad, Michael Lohan, told PopEater at the time athat the entire incident was as a “ridiculous” misunderstanding.
Meanwhile, rumors of Lohan’s recent late-night partying probably haven’t helped her case, and the actress took to Twitter to try to clear her name.
According to PEOPLE, Lohan was spotted leaving Hollywood’s Roosevelt Hotel last week with Samantha Ronson.
“I was just at roosevelt to meet Samantha and say happy birthday to a friend,” Lohan tweeted. “i take my sobriety seriously. please dont believe this accusations. i know the rules and i wouldnt risk probation.”
On Saturday night she was out late again, catching a show by Ferras at Hollywood’s Hotel Cafe.
“Went to see my friend @ohferras perform and was talking to a future costar — just to be bombarded by paparazzi,” she wrote. “So much for being normal — im now winded and headed home.”
Lindsay Lohan will face the courts tomorrow for grand theft.

Actress Lindsay Lohan will be arraigned Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. Sources say she will be charged with felony grand theft for stealing a $2,500 necklace from a boutique in Venice.
Is she is found guilty, the maximum sentence for her could be three years in a California state prison, but it is not likely she would serve the full sentence, a source has said. “It’s unlikely that she is going to get three years in state prison. Judge Fox [who has handled most of her probation violations] could give her six months for violating probation in Beverly Hills and another judge who hears the case on grand theft could decide to send her for more time in county jail or he could send her to state prison” Attorney Cron said. “It’s more likely that she is going to go to an extended period in county jail. It wouldn’t be 30 or 60 days, it’s going to be a substantially longer sentence than that.”
Lohan’s representatives have kept with her innocent plea. “We vehemently deny these allegations and, if charges are filed, we will fight them in court, not in the press,” Lohan’s attorney Shawn Chapman Holley said in a statement.
