Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon are officially parents.

Reportedly, Mariah Carey gave birth to her twins, a son and a daughter, on Saturday in Los Angeles, which is the same day as the couple’s anniversary. The 42 year old singer gave birth just after noon time.

Carey’s rep told sources that the baby girl arrived first weighing 5 lbs., 3 oz. and 18 inches long. Then came her brother, weighing 5 lbs. 6 oz. and 19 inches long. The rep said Carey’s song “We Belong Together” was playing after the twins arrived.

The proud father, Nick Cannon, 30, tweeted, “My wife just gave me the most incredible anniversary gift in life! I won’t ever be able to top this!”

Sources say, the names of the babies has yet to be made public.

Carey has been anticipating this day for some time now. She has been sharing her excitement, showing off his & hers nursery and posting pictures on Twitter.

Simon Cowell says Mariah Carey will be a part of ‘X Factor’.

The American version of ‘X Factor’ is scheduled to premier this fall and Simon Cowell has now confirmed that Mariah Carey will take part in the action, but not as a judge.

“I think Mariah will have a role on the live shows,” Cowell said during an interview. “I met her recently and she was on great form.”

Carey is due to give birth to her twins about a month from now, so she will not be able to join the show as a judge in September.

“Her idea was to be the judge of the judges, which only Mariah could come up with,” Cowell said. “She’ll be involved in some form. I literally adore her. I love her to bits.”

There has still been no word on who will take the third judge’s seat on ‘X Factor’, but Cowell is more focused on the auditions right now. He has made the announcement that he will be leaving the British ‘X Factor’ to concentrate on his new show in America.

The winner of ‘X Factor’ will receive a $5 million recording contract from Cowell’s Syco/SonyMusic label.

Mariah Carey’s false alarm.

Singer Mariah Carey, 42, went to the hospital this weekend thinking that it was time to deliver, but was sent home due to false alarm. The Grammy Winner and her husband, Nick Cannon, are expecting twins, a boy and a girl.

On the morning of March 27, she tweeted that the twins, “really wanted 2 celebrate w/us/share the anniversary!” She also said, “I started having contractions last night…went 2 the hospital.”

Her next tweet read, “Finally they said I could come home after they got it under control but…They almost came on 3/27- happy anniversary in deed!!! We have a few more weeks 2 go but- wow!!!”

Earlier in the week, Cannon, 30, tweeted about the upcoming delivery, “I am probably going to faint in the delivery room! I need to man up!” He tweeeted. “Or maybe I should say WOMAN UP, since they are the ones that have to be the strongest in the whole ordeal!”

He went on to say, “I am in awe of my wife!”

Carey and Cannon tied the knot in 2008 and announced they were expecting in October. Then in December they announced it was twins and shortly after confirmed it was a boy and a girl.

Cannon told the radio show that the first people they told were President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama, which was after a performance by Carey: “She shared with the President and the First Lady that we are having twins. I haven’t even told my wife I was doing this, so I am probably going to get yelled at for not getting permission.”

Mariah Carey and husband, Nick Cannon, recently did an interview with US Weekly and opened up about their pregnancy woes. Carey had initially suffered a miscarriage in 2008 and was devistated. She says she then started taking progesterone, a hormone prescribed to boost fertility and support or help maintain pregnancy in women susceptible to miscarriage. Nick Cannon said that his diva wife also did “once-a-day” acupuncture, “all over her body. He said it was a good de-stressor.” The two are expecting in the Spring.

Mariah Carey Being Sued for $30,000 by Pooches’ Vet

Mariah Carey is being sued by her the Vet (Dr. Bressler) who apparently stayed at Carey’s mansion for 2.5 weeks where she cared for the ill pup 24 hours a day, even sending video to Carey, who was out of town. A source who worked with the Vet said, “We were up all night caring for and tube-feeding the puppy. Mariah loves her dogs and requested the best care, and that’s what she got.” The source went on to say, “Dr. Bressler left her practice (in New York) and was there through the pre and postnatal care and the delivery. We provided 24-hour day care.” According to the law suit, Dr. Bressler billed Carey for $37,790.32, but only received $8,231.50. Carey’s attorney made the following statement in rebuttal to the suit and allegations, “This abusive lawsuit appears to be a crass publicity stunt. As a matter of principle, Mariah intends to fight this baseless case and is confident that it will be dismissed.”

Mariah Carey, 41, was supposed to star in Tyler Perry’s adaptation of Ntozake Shange’s 1975 play “For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf.” However, she dropped out of the film just days before it was scheduled to begin. Rumors are starting to spread that she may be pregnant. Her rep told USMagazine.com, “She is not doing the movie because her doctor advised her not to. More than that I cannot comment further.”
