Mel Gibson welcomes newest grandson.

Despite all the allegations and bad press surrounding Mel Gibson these, he has good reason to celebrate right now. The actor’s daughter Hannah gave birth to a son and according to Gibson’s friend he was “overwhelmed with emotion”. This makes three grandbabies for Gibson.

“He gets that way around babies. … He was overjoyed,” the friend said.

The Oscar winner took a plea bargain which means no jail time. This after months of investigations by detectives. The incident took place in January, 2010, and Gibson allegedly “willfully and unlawfully” committed violent acts against his, then girlfriend, Oksana during a heated argument.

Gibson got probation for three years, has to attend 52 weeks of counceling, pay a small fine and ordered to do 16 hours of community service.

Mel Gibson peads no contest in court.

Actor Mel Gibson pled no contest in court in Friday, according to sources. Gibson was charged with misdemeanor battery for assaulting Oksana Grigorieva, his former girlfriend. According to his attorney, Gibson pleaded no contest in order to avoid a long trial as well as to protect his children.

The 55 year old actor was charged after months of investigation by detectives after a January 2010 incident when Gibson “willfully and unlawfully” used violence during an argument.

Sources say, Gibson got probation for three years and will have to attend 52 weeks of counseling in a domestic violence program. He was ordered to do 16 hours of community service and pay a fine and continue with the treatment he has been receiving.

Grigorieva did not attend after waiving her right to appear. Gibson had a restraining order just after being charged.

Gibson’s next film, which was directed by Jodie Foster, is the drama ‘The Beaver,’ and will reportedly be released later this year.

Mel Gibson plans to plea no contest.

According to sources, Mel Gibson will appear in court on Friday and plead no contest to the charges pending for battery. Since he is making the plea deal, Gibson will not have to spend time in jail for the abuse which was reported on January 6, 2010.

“One major reason why this case was being brought against Mel Gibson, more than a year after the alleged incident took place, is because Sasha was made available to testify at a potential criminal trial against Mel,” a source close to the case said. “Sasha’s involvement and cooperation in the case was absolutely essential, and because he is a minor, both of his parents had to agree to let him participate, and that took some time to make happen.”

“Even though Mel believed he could win the case, he struck the deal to protect his loved ones,” sources say.

“Mel’s priority throughout all of this has been that the best interests of his young daughter Lucia and the rest of his children be put first in any decisions made. It is with only that in mind that he asked me to approach the District Attorney with a proposal that would bring all of this to an immediate end.”

“The way many people perceive Mel is forever changed,” sources say. “Mel’s taped rants, with racist, violent and misogynistic language, will never be erased from the public consciousness. The after effects will linger for a long, long time.”

Oksana’s bodyguard sides with Mel.

Oksana’s bodyguard, Kristian Herzog, has reportedly sided with Mel Gibson. Herzog tells sources that Mel never punched her as she previously claimed and Mel slapped her. Herzog says Oksana is exaggerating and lying about the domestic violence incident. Mel had already to the admitted to slapping Oksana due to the fact that she was shaking Lucia (their baby).

Mel’s lawyers have served Herzog with a subpooena in the custody case of Lucia. Reportedly Herzog says that Oksana secretly taped Gibson “to pressure Mel to pay her money”, sources say. She is currently being investigated for extortion. Herzog also says that he and Oksana had a sexual relationship which Oksana denies.

Mel Gibson and Oksana reportedly went to court for an emergency hearing on Friday. Mel and his team were requesting that the judge strip Oksana of custody of Lucia. Mel’s team cited that Oksana had acted maliciously and [not in the best interest of Lucia] by allegedly leaking the information from Oksana’s deposition. (Oksana claimed that Mel had beat her during sex to get him aroused.)

Mel’s lawyer requested that the judge give an immediate ruling, but the judge refused setting a full hearing for next month.

Mel Gibson To Make Cameo Appearance in “Hangover 2″

Rumor has it that Mel Gibson will make a cameo appearance in Hangover 2. His role will be as a Bangkok tattoo artist. A source said that “Filming is taking place on the Warner Bros lot, where a Bangkok set has been built. Mel is expected to film his role in two weeks. Then the production moves to Thailand at the end of October.” The film is due out in May, 2011.

Oksana Claims She did not Know Secret Recordings of Mel Gibson Were Worth Money

Oksana is now claiming that she did NOT know, in any way, shape and form, that her secret recordings of Mel Gibson would be worth any money. In an interview with People magazine, the reporter asked, “Did you intend to extort him or use the tapes against him?” Oksana replied, “That never crossed my mind. I didn’t know that people can do such things.” TMZ’s report that Oksana orchestrated a $15 million deal in return for keeping the tapes secret. The interview will come out Friday.

Oksana Grigorieva - Pattern of Accusing Ex’s of Abuse?

According to TMZ, multiple sources told them that Oksana Grigorieva accused ex-boyfriend, Timothy Dalton, of similar abusive actions while they were dating. The sources say that Grigorieva complained that Dalton was physically abusive to her. Moreover, L.A. County Sheriff’s Department advised that they have at least one email from Oksana to Mel in which she claims Dalton physically abused her.

Grigorieva’s attorney refutes the abusive allegations, saying, “That is a complete lie. I challenge anyone making this claim to show their face….This is an attack on Oksana and Tim’s son, because this is going to hurt him by false allegations that his father is a loser the way Mel Gibson is a loser. Tim Dalton is not Mel Gibson. He’s a fine human being.”

Oksana Grigorieva Makes $20,000/month in Child Support. Says, It’s Not Enough

Oksana is making $20,000 per month in child support but says it is nothing compared to Hollywood standards. Her lawyers said, “Everything in Hollywood is to excess. Mel Gibson is worth upwards of $1 billion. It’s a very modest award by Hollywood standards and a very high award by normal people standards.” I don’t know about you but I know lots of folks in Hollywood and all over the world that would be happy as shit about getting $20,000/month in child support and could easily live off that amount.

Oksana’s Lawyer: She Did Not Leak Mel Gibson Tapes

Oksana’s lawyer went on the Today Show today and vehemently denied that his client sold the audio tapes between her and Mel Gibson nor did she leak letters and emails. He did say they have strong feelings on who did leak the material but didn’t know if they could ever do anything about it. He claims that the tapes are worth at least a million dollars and the fact that Oksana is broke confirms she did not sell the tapes. He goes on to say that she is simply a victim of domestic violence.
