Oksana is making $20,000 per month in child support but says it is nothing compared to Hollywood standards. Her lawyers said, “Everything in Hollywood is to excess. Mel Gibson is worth upwards of $1 billion. It’s a very modest award by Hollywood standards and a very high award by normal people standards.” I don’t know about you but I know lots of folks in Hollywood and all over the world that would be happy as shit about getting $20,000/month in child support and could easily live off that amount.

Oksana’s lawyer went on the Today Show today and vehemently denied that his client sold the audio tapes between her and Mel Gibson nor did she leak letters and emails. He did say they have strong feelings on who did leak the material but didn’t know if they could ever do anything about it. He claims that the tapes are worth at least a million dollars and the fact that Oksana is broke confirms she did not sell the tapes. He goes on to say that she is simply a victim of domestic violence.

Palin filing for Johnson Pay Records

February 18, 2010 by m.coonce · Leave a Comment

Britstol Palin apparently thinks her baby daddy, Levi Johnston, is a big fat liar … and she’s subpoenaing CNN and Playgirl to prove it.

The lawyer for Sarah Palin’s kid is scoffing at legal docs filed by Levi’s lawyer — docs claiming Levi made but a pittance over the last few years and should not have to pay $1,688.42 a month in child support - which is what Bristol wants.

Levi says the best he’s done in the income department so far is last year — claiming he made approximately $101,000. Apparently Palin’s not buying it, because her lawyer issued subpoenas today to CNN, Playgirl, Entertainment Tonight, The Insider, Star Magazine, and National Enquirer, asking for hard figures on how much they paid Levi.

And there’s what Palin’s lawyer believes is a smoking gun. Levi claimed in legal docs that he made no more than $10,000 a year prior to 2009. But in the new docs, Palin’s lawyer attached Levi’s pay stub from 2008, showing he raked in $18,594.50 from one employer - a construction company in Alaska.

Dr Murray in Financial Trouble before Jackson

February 8, 2010 by m.coonce · Leave a Comment

The Jackson job offered Murray, 56, a lifeline for a man struggling financially.

Courts in Las Vegas, where he lived with his physician wife, 19-year-old son and 13-year-old daughter, had ordered him or his business to pay $435,000 to creditors, including a student loan.

His home near the 18th hole of a country club was in jeopardy. Property records show he had refinanced the mortgage at least three times in five years and owed close to $1.7 million on a property now assessed at $1.08 million. By the time the Jackson job came along, it had been months since Murray had paid the mortgage and foreclosure proceedings loomed, according to court records.

He had also fallen behind on child support payments. Birth certificates and other public records indicate that in addition to the two children he had with his wife, Murray had fathered at least four children with three other women.

Files from Las Vegas family court proceedings show he owed thousands of dollars to a California woman with whom he had a son, now 11. He was also helping support two daughters, ages 16 and 8, who lived with their mother in Las Vegas, according to the records. And last March, an actress from Santa Monica gave birth to Murray’s son, according to a California birth certificate.

According to his lawyer, many of Murray’s financial problems arose from providing medical care for the poor.

Miramax is No More

January 29, 2010 by m.coonce · Leave a Comment

Miramax, the former indie movie studio that churned out big time commercial hits such as “Pulp Fiction,” “Good Will Hunting” and “Chicago,” was shut down yesterday by Disney. The former Hollywood powerhouse, founded 30 years ago by Harvey and Bob Weinstein, lost some of its artsy appeal after selling out to Disney in 1993. In fact, it appeared that instead of growing the business, Mickey & Company scaled back production. The studio has been on life support since the fall when president Daniel Battsek resigned.

‘Jersey Shore’ Closer to Deal

January 27, 2010 by m.coonce · Leave a Comment

The cast of “Jersey Shore” is on track to keep fist-pumping into Season 2.

Although a deal hasn’t been reached with the cast for a second round, sources said the fact that MTV has stepped up its offer to $10,000 an episode has made negotiations take a positive turn. Agreements could be reached by week’s end for another season of MTV’s breakout hit, whose cast collectively rebelled against the network’s low salaries for freshman performers.

MTV is eager to get the cast shooting a new season to air beginning in July or August. Parties could face a production hurdle, however, with winter in New Jersey putting the show’s summer beach house locale under snow. MTV might have to choose between crunching its production schedule or having the cast make a trip to warmer climate for the next season to make its airdate goals. MTV did not return a request for comment.
