Nicole Richie & Joel Madden Engaged

Nicole Richie and her Good Charlotte rocker boyfriend, Joel Madden, are getting married. Richie, 28, made the announcement Monday on The Late Show with David Letterman.

“Yep. I’m engaged. Very happy,” wrote Madden, 30, on Twitter Monday. “Yeah we’ve been engaged for a while so your all kind of late on that. But Thanks for the hooplah all the same.”

A source says, “Nicole and Joel are in the process of planning the wedding. She’s very involved in every detail. She’s thrilled.” The couple is expected to tie the knot in the summer.

Richie and Madden started dating in December 2006 and have two children together: Harlow, 2, and Sparrow, 5 months.

Nicole Richie Doing Well in Hospital

Actress Nicole Richie is responding well to treatment for pneumonia in a US hospital, her publicist has announced.

The 28-year-old admitted herself to the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles on Wednesday.

Earlier this week, a judge granted her request for a restraining order against two celebrity photographers.

Richie, Paris Hilton’s co-star in TV show The Simple Life and the daughter of singer Lionel Richie, gave birth to a son in September.

She and her partner Joel Madden, a member of rock band Good Charlotte, already have a daughter, who will be two in January.

Nicole Richie back Home

Nicole Richie is back home after suffering minor injuries from a fender bender with an unlicensed driver. The driver of the other vehicle was photographer Eduardo Arrivebene, who rear-ended Richie’s vehicle while she was driving with a passenger Monday, was arrested for driving without a license. He was later freed on $1,225 bail.

On Tuesday, she was visited by her mother, Brenda Richie, at the home she shares with Joel Madden and their two kids, Harlow, 22 months and 1-month-old Sparrow.

Nicole Richie in Fender Bender

Reality TV star Nicole Richie was hurt Monday in a traffic accident in Beverly Hills.

The 28-year-old Richie was driving a Land Rover on Wilshire Blvd. when she was rear-ended by a photographer who was driving without a license, said Beverly Hills police Lt. Mike Hill.

Richie complained of pain but opted to seek her own treatment and no ambulance was called, Hill said.

Edwardo Arrivebene, 29, a freelance photographer, was arrested on suspicion of driving without a license, Hill said.

Hill did not know if there were any passengers in either vehicle.

Richie gave birth last month to Sparrow James Midnight Madden, her second child with Joel Madden. Their daughter, Harlow, will be 2 in January.

Nicole Richie and Joel Madden named their son Sparrow Midnight. Why would anyone name their son after a big black bird? We are now convinced that Nicole is out there on something. In fact, she may need an intervention right along with Maia. More importantly, with all the normal names out there, why do celebrities insist on trying to be “creative”?
