The Anti-Defamation League called director, Oliver Stone’s, views “anti-Semitic.” They were referring to some comments Oliver Stone made to The Sunday Times of London.

When asked in an interview with the Sunday Times of London why he focused on the Holocaust in his latest filmmaking project, Stone replied: “The Jewish domination of the media.” Stone also added, “They stay on top of every comment, the most powerful lobby in Washington. Israel has f***** up United States foreign policy for years.” Stone did end up issuing an apology: “In trying to make a broader point about the range of atrocities the Germans committed against many people, I made a clumsy association about the Holocaust, for which I am sorry and I regret. Jews obviously do not control media or any other industry..The fact that the Holocaust is still a very important, vivid and current matter today is, in fact, a great credit to the very hard work of a broad coalition to the remembrance of this atrocity — and it was an atrocity.”

Oliver Stone & Hugo Chavez: 'So you want my oil?'

Oliver Stone’s new documentary ‘South of the Border’ premiered this week at the Venice film festival. The film is about Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, a fierce critic of American foreign policy. While the film had a good reception, Stone is concerned about getting distribution here in the US. I guess that the risks you take when your subject matter has a tendency to call people ‘the devil.’

South of the Border also seeks to demonstrate how Chavez has been unfairly demonized by the U.S. media which has cast him as a dangerous maverick who is a threat to security.
