If Lindsay thinks she is going to only have to serve a few days behind bars, she is sadly mistaken. Apparently, she will have to spend the next 29 days in detention. A spokesman for the LA Sheriff’s department said, “Ms. Lohan cannot be released early because this isn’t a jail sentence. She’s being held by court order until her hearing on Oct. 22. She will be held in the same conditions as her last stay, in a keep-away unit.” He went on to say, “She’s now being processed through, she’s going to go through the same physical and mental evaluation.” She will still be segregated from the general prison population for what he calls “the safety and security of the entire jail system.” Well, guess there won’t be much to write about for the next 29 days….

The son of Oscar-winning actor Michael Douglas admitted in a New York court to possessing heroin and dealing large amounts of methamphetamine and cocaine.
Cameron Douglas, 31, was arrested last July at a hotel in Manhattan. If convicted he faces a minimum 10-year prison sentence.
When asked by US District Judge Ronald Ellis if he knew what he was doing was wrong, he said: “Yes, your honour,”
Prosecutors said he has signed a plea agreement, but gave no further details.
In addition to conspiracy to distribute drugs, Douglas pleaded guilty to heroin possession.
The charge stems from allegations that his girlfriend tried to smuggle him the drug in an electric toothbrush while he was under house arrest.
Cameron Douglas appeared with his father and grandfather, actor Kirk Douglas, in the film It Runs in the Family in 2003, a comedy focusing on three generations of a dysfunctional family.

Roger Avery Mug Shot
“Pulp Fiction” co-screenwriter Roger Avary has been removed from a prison work furlough program and locked up, authorities say.
Avary was sentenced in September to a year in jail and five years probation for causing a drunken driving car crash that killed a passenger and injured Avary’s wife. News reports say he has been serving his time in a work furlough program.
But on Friday Ventura County sheriff’s spokesman Capt. Ross Bonfiglio said the 44-year-old Avary had been locked up in the county jail.
The Los Angeles Times and the Ventura County Star reported that he was removed from the furlough program and jailed after allegedly Twittering about his experiences since being sentenced.
But Bonfiglio told The Associated Press that he was jailed over security issues and Twittering wasn’t a key factor. Avary attorney Mark Werskman denied Twittering caused his incarceration.
Avary and Quentin Tarantino share the 1995 Academy Award for writing “Pulp Fiction.”
French President Secures Polanski Release

Must Be Nice
Polish director Roman Polanski’s family is thanking French President Nicolas Sarkozy for being “very effective” in helping to win his release from a Swiss prison.
“I wouldn’t go so far as to say that it is thanks to the President that Roman has been freed, but he has been super,” Polanski’s sister-in-law, Mathilde Seigner, told Le Parisien newspaper. “The President has been very effective.”
The London Times speculated that Sarkozy’s wife, ex-model Carla Bruni, may have pressured her husband to intervene because she used to hob nob with Paris’ artistic community, which includes Polanski and wife Emmanuelle Seigner.
After initially balking at his release, Swiss authorities agreed to let Polanski move from a cell to his luxurious Alpine chalet once he puts up $4.5 million bail.
A bracelet will allow police to monitor Polanski , but the device does not include a global positioning system to track him should he escape.
“We can only check if the person is at home,” Jonas Peter Weber, a professor at the University of Bern, told the Times. “If the alarm goes off and no police is in the vicinity, the person will be able to flee.”
Sarkozy was first criticized for supporting Polanski in October. He expressed outrage after the director was arrested at a Zurich airport on a U.S. warrant from 1977 for having sex with a 13-year-old girl.
