Katy Perry is suing Australian magazine.

Sources say singer Katy Perry is suing the Australian magazine NW due to an article suggesting that she cheated on her new husband Russell Brand.

On the front page story in March, claiming that the 26 year old star had an “intimate relationship” with Benny Blanco who is one of her producers.

The headline on the magazine said, “World exclusive, Katy’s other man”. Perry and Brand tied the knot in October 2010. The couple decided to take legal action approximately a month and a half after the story hit the newstands. The lawsuit against the magazine was filed on April 27.

Perry made a statement saying that she has been “gravely injured in her reputation and feelings and has suffered distress, embarrassment and humiliation.” Should the singer win the case, the publishers of the magazine would have to pay six figures.

Russell Brand and Katy Perry were married this weekend. The wedding was held at the Aman-e-Khas luxury resort in a tiger reserve in Ranthambhore National Park. A Christian minister and longtime friend of Perry’s family performed a “private and spiritual ceremony.” Close friends and family members attended the ceremony. A released statement by the two said, “the backdrop was the inspirational and majestic countryside of Northern India.”

A goofy Russell Brand told the press he has some off-the-wall plans in store for his wedding to Katy Perry.

“We are going to do the wedding naked! All the families will be naked!” Brand joked at Sunday’s 2010 Grammy Awards.`We’re still deciding what to do,” he said. “There’s no juicy details yet.”

But actually, a clothing-less wedding is just one of his quirky ideas.

“All my dream weddings don’t make sense, the vicar will start melting, and the people in the front row will turn into people from my school. And then everyone will only say the word `potato.’ ”

Heidi Montag’s Album isn’t Selling Worth a Damn

Heidi Montag’s debut album may have set a record — just not a good one.

In its first week of release, The Hills star’s album, Superficial, has sold less than 1,000 copies, according to Nielsen Soundscan.

In fact, industry sources tell UsMagazine.com that the album has sold only 658 downloads to date.

This is likely upsetting news for the reality star, who told Entertainment Weekly last week that she went broke making Superficial but thought that “within the first week, we will definitely make our money back.”

She told EW, “I put every dollar I have into this. I’ve spent over $1 million, almost $2 million, on this album. It’s cost as much or more than a Britney Spears album because I wanted it to be that quality… The songs will make an impact in pop history.”

Russel Brand proposes to Kate Perry in India

It’s official now, Russell Brand and Kate Perry plan to get married within the next few months. Russell proposed to Kate while they were on their holiday in India; on New Years Eve.

A hotel worker said: “He had organized a special dining experience.

“We set a table in a garden with candles everywhere. They arrived in a horse and carriage with a glass of champagne and we served them dinner.

“At midnight they enjoyed fireworks while sitting on an elephant, which Mr Brand specially requested. Then they were taken to the Mughal Garden - which was decorated by flowers and candlelight.

“Mr Brand had given his butler the diamond ring to hide among the flowers. Miss Perry found it, he proposed, and she immediately said ‘Yes’.

“After that they requested 45 minutes’ privacy. They looked like they were beautifully in love.”
