Sources say Shania Twain will be performing at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas beginning on December 1, 2012. She announced today that she will be performing 60 shows per year for two years from her ‘Still the One’ concert series.

“This is a dream for any recording artist,” Shania said in a press conference in Nashville Wednesday. “This is more than an opportunity, it’s an exceptional gift.”

The singer has been battling with a medical condition known as dysphonia, which she says causes the muscles in her throat to squeeze her voice box. Twain blames her traumatic past for the condition, including the loss of both of her parents in a car crash as a teenager and witnessing domestic violence as a child.

Tickets went on pre-sale last night if you have an American Express card, after Twain announced the Male Video of the Year award last night’s live CMT Awards broadcast.

‘Why Not? With Shania Twain’ is set to air the finale of the series on Sunday night, June 12 on OWN at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT. During the finale she will premiere her first new single in six years, ‘Today Is Your Day’. After the premiere, the tune will be available for fans only on iTunes and will be distributed to radio stations nationwide.

The episode will show footage never seen by the public of her wedding in the Bahamas to Frédéric Thiébaud.

Shania Twain has told sources that she is losing her voice. The singer goes on to say that she is going through therapy to restore her speech as well as her singing voice. She says that after years of suppressing and repressing her voice and emotions, her vocal cords became damaged.

Twain says her condition is known as Dysphonia, which impairs your abilities to produce sounds with your vocal cords.

The 45 year old singer says it all started when she found out about her ex-husband, Robert “Mutt” Lange, having an affair with a close friend, Marie-Ane Thiebaud.

Twain reveals, “I had reached a point in my life where there was a bottleneck, physically, in my throat. Something had to give.”

“I never contemplated killing myself. But certainly there were moments where I didn’t want to live. I wouldn’t have done anything about it, but I just lost my will to live. But I can understand why people do. Living in silence is very painful,” Twain said during her interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Twain is now remarried to Frederic Thiebaud, who was the husband of her former friend. The couple got married Janauary 1, 2011 in Rincon, Puerto Rico.

Twain wrote on Twitter, “I’m in love! Frederic has been a true gift to me as a compassionate, understanding friend. Over time, an amazing love has blossomed from this precious friendship.”

Shania Twain’s stalker arrested, again.

Singer Shania Twain was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame at the Juno Awards in Toronto on Sunday night. Just minutes before the singer accepted her award, police arrested 50 year old Dr. Giovanni Palumbo, who has been accused of stalking the singer.

Palumbo was ordered by the court to stay 500 meters away from Twain. According to police, he told them, “he just wanted to meet her”. The arrest was made without incident and the Ottawa doctor had to appear at Old City Hall the next morning.

According to sources, Palumbo had his license suspended and then re-instated due to time spent in Royal Ottawa Hospital, as a mental health patient. He appeared in court on March 7, but the charges were dropped because Twain was unable to attend.

Reportedly, JP John Jackson told Palumbo to “make no contact with Shania Twain” and as the words were being spoken, Palumbo laughed and shook his head.

Palumbo has been stalking Twain for some time. He has sent the singer flowers and letters in Switzerland and showed up at her Muskoka cottage. And still another time, he showed up wearing a Shania t-shirt and carrying her autobiography.

Twain attended the awards ceremony with her new husband and appeared to be unaware of what was going on. After the award show, she told reporters, “The fans have been amazing. I just love this place. I’m at home here, and this is a really big moment. It feels really genuine in every way.”
