Taylor Lautner Beats Kanye’s Ass

December 14, 2009 by m.coonce · Leave a Comment

Taylor Lautner beheaded a mannequin of Kanye West on Saturday Night Live.

The Twilight: New Moon star reenacted the night of the MTV Video Music Awards in September, when Kanye interrupted Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech, for a comedy sketch as he appeared as guest host on the NBC show.

Lautner was joined by mannequins with masks of Kanye and Swift’s faces on, and defended the country singer’s honour by performing kung fu kicks on the Kanye dummy, beheading it, before kissing Swift.

Lautner had presented Swift with the award for Best Female Video at the ceremony in New York in September when Kanye stormed the stage and said he believed Beyonce should have won. He later apologised.

Lautner and Swift are yet to officially confirm they are dating but when the singer guest hosted Saturday Night Live recently, she performed a spoof song in which she blew the actor a kiss.

NBC beat up over SNL spoof

December 8, 2009 by m.coonce · Leave a Comment

Anti-domestic violence advocates beat up on NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” yesterday for a skit poking fun at reports that Tiger Woods was hit with a golf club by his enraged wife, Elin Nordegren .

“There’s nothing funny about this story, particularly if violence was part of the events that took place,” said Rita Smith, president of the National Coalition for Domestic Violence . “It diminishes people’s support for victims of domestic violence.”

Woods, who has been accused of 10 extramarital affairs in the wake of a car crash outside his Florida home Thanksgiving weekend, was skewered in the skit that featured “SNL” regular Kenan Thompson, playing the golf great, and guest host Blake Lively as his angry Swedish wife.

Taylor Lautner and James Franco Will Host December SNL

When SNL announced yesterday that James Franco and Taylor Lautner would be hosting in December, I had one thought: Man, I would love to see these two wrestle. Just kidding: I thought man, James Franco is going to obliterate poor Taylor Lautner and his biceps of teenwolf lust.

In Lautner’s defense, he’ll be one of the youngest hosts the show has ever had — a few months shy of his 18th birthday puts him among the 10 youngest. I’m worried that we might have a January Jones redux on our hands, though: Lautner is famous for one and only one thing, and given how much the show has struggled this season to give hosts a variety of material, that’s going to make writing for him pretty tough. Might he be charismatic and nimble enough to carry it anyway? Eh…live TV has slayed far mightier foes.

Which brings us to Franco. Franco hosted last year, and he did a pretty solid job — plus he’s a naturally funny guy who has been in many comedies. He’s also shown himself to be a really good sport about making fun of himself, which is often what the best SNL sketches come from.

On Nov 7th Taylor Swift will be joining the cast of SNL for another moment in the spotlight. Only this time, Kanye West won’t be there.

When asked if she had any plans to bring up the Kanye West incident, she had this to say.

“I’ve been thinking about skit ideas for a long time,” Swift, 19, admits. “There are definitely some hilarious things that have happened to me over the past couple of months that I think will be pretty substantial skits.”

Megan Fox on SNL

September 28, 2009 by m.coonce · Leave a Comment

Saturday Night Live kicked off its 35th season with host Megan Fox, and while we’re not enitrely sure why the oh-so-underexposed actress was chosen (actually, we’re pretty sure it was just because she’s hot), she wasn’t terrible.

While Megan played up her sexpot persona throughout the hour-and-a-half gig, the monologue was surprisingly candid—and oh yeah, did we mention the nude photos she brought along of herself? Photoshopped nudes, but still!
