Sherri Shepherd will wed TV writer Lamar Sally in August and is now talking details with sources.

The 43 year old talk show co-host of ‘The View’ said Sally is her perfect match for her. “I’ve got a really great friend. he keeps me laughing all the time. I think laughter is No. 1. He’s silly and I’m silly, I think that’s a great match.”

Shepherd said the wedding cake will be very simple, adding, it will be red velvet. She said, “I love anything red velvet.” As for possible honeymoon destinations, the bride-to-be said, “We’re looking at Thailand or somewhere over in Europe. We want to go somewhere exotic.”

Shepherd also says she has been working with son, Jeffrey, who is almost 6, showing him how to escort her down the aisle. She said, “I’m just teaching him how to walk down slowly, instead of running, and I’m just going to ask him, please don’t say, ‘Mommy, I gotta pee.’ Can you just hold it for 45 minutes?”

Shepherd plans to slim down before the big day and said she has not started shopping for a dress yet. She has hired a personal trainer who has her doing squats, lunges and lifting weights. She hopes to get down to a “single digit” size before the big day.

Obama Wasn’t Invited to Chelsea Clinton’s Wedding

President Obama paid a visit to the ladies of “The View” which will air on Thursday. When asked if he was invited to Chelsea Clinton’s wedding, Obama joked, “You don’t want two presidents at one wedding! All the secret service, guests going through (metal detectors), all the gifts being torn apart …” Howqever when asked directly by host, Barbara Walters, if he was invited to the wedding, Obama said, “I was not invited to the wedding,” he said. “because I think Hillary and Bill, properly, want to keep this thing for Chelsea and her soon-to-be husband.”

Jersey Shore folks meet the ladies of the View

The ladies of The View were split on hosting the cast of the MTV breakout hit show, Jersey Shore. Both Elizabeth and Sherri defended the cast while Whoopi and Joy slammed the cast as a bunch of non-educated drunks who are bad influences on young kids (not quoted but my little summary). Whoopi could not understand why they were even coming on the show while Joy sat stern faced and commented on how they make Italians look bad.

When the cast came out, The Situation gave the gals from The View nicknames:
Whoopi: The Administration (for “sittin’ at the head”)
Joy: The Assumption (for opinions expressed before the crew came out)
Elisabeth: The Attraction (for long legs and a short skirt…presumably)
Sherri: The Duplication (for wearing Snooki’s hair ‘do today)

Snooki commented that she new she was a star from when she was a baby. J-Wow agreed on how nice her boobs were and the entire Jersey Shore cast confirmed they wear condoms while having sex….ummmm, sure!

Adam Lambert to visit ‘The View’

After taking heat from Adam Lambert’s fans and gay advocates for a week, ABC on Friday extended an olive branch of sorts to the “American Idol” runner-up who made headlines with his provocative performance last month at the American Music Awards in which he kissed a male musician.

ABC canceled Lambert’s scheduled appearances on “Good Morning America” and “Jimmy Kimmel Live” and stopped considering him for “New Year’s Rockin’ Eve,” which drew thousands of complaints from viewers and gay advocates who believed the network was retaliating against him because he is gay.

On Friday night, Lambert took to Twitter, where he first announced the cancellations, to tell his fans that he will appear on “The View” next Thursday.

Without offering an explanation and declining to comment, ABC confirmed the appearance.

Lambert will be interviewed by “The View” hosts and will perform. Both will be pre-taped because Lambert has a scheduling conflict and cannot be in New York on Thursday, sources said.

Lambert will appear on “The View” the morning after his interview with Barbara Walters for her “10 Most Fascinating People” special on ABC. The Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, which earlier accused ABC of subjecting Lambert to a double standard, applauded ABC’s invitation.
