Prince William & Kate Middleton Minted on Official Engagement Coin

The Royal Mint unveiled the new commemorative “Royal Engagement Alderney” coin featuring Prince William and Kate Middleton A spokesman for the Royal Mint told UsMagazine.com, “We are delighted to showcase this new coin. The special betrothal design has been approved by Prince William and Her Majesty The Queen.” Only 50,000 of the coins have been created and are available at royalmint.com. It costs around $7.75 and comes with its own keepsake “presentation folder.”

Hulk Hogan Brawl During Wedding

TMZ just reported that there was a bit of a “brawl” at Hulk Hogan’s wedding. Apparently a paprazzi photographer was trying to take pictures of Hulk and his bride, Jennifer McDaniel, during their ceremony on Clearwater beach. Cops were called in but no arrests were made as no one wanted to press charges.

Prince William Announces Engagement to Kate Middleton

Prince William announced his engagement to longtime girlfriend, Kate Middleton. The actual proposal happened while the pair were on vacation in Kenya a few weeks ago. The engagement ring is an oval sapphire which is surrounded by smaller diamonds. More noteably, it belonged to Princess Diana. Prince William said of his choice, “It was my way of keeping her close to it all.” The wedding date has not been released but is being planned for either the spring or summer of 2011.

The symbolism awakened a faint flutter of hope: The era of Diana has returned.

Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz Wedding and Baby News

Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz were married on Saturday at a private home on the Mediterranean Sea. Keys, 29, wore a Vera Wang dress and Beatz, 31 wore a Tom Ford tuxedo. They are expecting their first child but have not released the gender of the baby. Beatz told PEOPLE magazine, “Whatever we’re blessed with, that baby is being born to blessed parents. Alicia is definitely one of those great parents-to-be. She’s super ready. Super glowing. Super happy.”

Obama Wasn’t Invited to Chelsea Clinton’s Wedding

President Obama paid a visit to the ladies of “The View” which will air on Thursday. When asked if he was invited to Chelsea Clinton’s wedding, Obama joked, “You don’t want two presidents at one wedding! All the secret service, guests going through (metal detectors), all the gifts being torn apart …” Howqever when asked directly by host, Barbara Walters, if he was invited to the wedding, Obama said, “I was not invited to the wedding,” he said. “because I think Hillary and Bill, properly, want to keep this thing for Chelsea and her soon-to-be husband.”

Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr Wed in Private Ceremony

The reps for both Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom confirmed to UsMagazine that they have in fact wed in a secret ceremony. Kerr recently announced that she has canceled an appearance at the Australian department store David Jones to celebrate, saying, “David Jones very graciously released me during this period so we could celebrate an intimate ceremony and honeymoon together.” The location of the ceremony or any further details have not yet been released.

Katy Perry Cut from Fiance’s Movie!

Katy Perry was originally in the movie, Get Him to the Greek, starring her now fiance, Russel Brand. However, she was cut out in the end. Hmmmmm, not a good omen with the upcoming nuptials. Perry joked about it saying, “I was like, ‘I’m sleeping with you, and you’re not gonna put me in the movie? That’s so messed up!’ ” On a serious note, Perry explained that “It seemed too much of a literal movie then, which I totally understand from a director’s perspective or from a moviegoer’s [perspective],” she said. “If you saw me and Russell making out, although it’d be cute to, ’cause that was the first moment we met, [it would feel like,] ‘There’s Russell Brand in the movie,’ not Aldous Snow, and they want it to be Aldous Snow, [so it's] completely understandable.”

What is it with all these stars renewing their vows only after a few years of marriage? For Tori and Dean and Heidi and Seal it’s been 5 years. For Mariah and Nick it’s only been a year! Seriously, don’t they have enough parties to attend and enough attention? Or maybe it is them trying to hold on to the marriage by “refreshing” it. Either way it is nauseating and simply wasteful so cut the crap people and get a friggin life!

Russell Brand Wedding Plans?

A goofy Russell Brand told the press he has some off-the-wall plans in store for his wedding to Katy Perry.

“We are going to do the wedding naked! All the families will be naked!” Brand joked at Sunday’s 2010 Grammy Awards.`We’re still deciding what to do,” he said. “There’s no juicy details yet.”

But actually, a clothing-less wedding is just one of his quirky ideas.

“All my dream weddings don’t make sense, the vicar will start melting, and the people in the front row will turn into people from my school. And then everyone will only say the word `potato.’ ”
