Taylor Swift May 2009 Seventeen
“Tonight I’m just gonna dance around with my band and my crew and my label,” she told PEOPLE after winning Entertainer of the Year in Nashville Wednesday night.
“I’m going to go hang out with my crew and my band and the people at my record label, and we’re going to hug and dance and jump up and down,” she added later.
“I never imagined that the unattainable thing that I dreamed about could happen to me at 19,” she said. “It’s a lot to absorb. So now the next challenge is to find the next challenge.”
But first things first – where to put her awards.
“I got my first place, so I’m going to put these someplace very, very centrally located!” she said. “I’m not quite sure where. I might have to put up some shelves.”

Taylor Swift’s single, Love Story, was named Song of the Year at the 57th annual BMI Country Awards in Nashville, on Tuesday, November 10.
Published by Sony/ATV Tree and Taylor Swift Music, Love Story is Swift’s second consecutive BMI Song of the Year; Teardrops on My Guitar earned the prestigious honor in 2008.
The event honored Kris Kristofferson as a BMI Icon; named Bobby Pinson Songwriter of the Year, and Sony/ATV Music Publishing Publisher of the Year; and saluted Brooks & Dunn with the BMI President’s Award.
Love Story, composed exclusively by Swift, was the first single from her sophomore album Fearless. The surprises came in the form of new and old at the 61st Primetime Emmys on Sunday as dark horses such as Toni Collette and Kristin Chenoweth beat out the favored winners while veteran actors took home nearly every other acting award.
And though it was hardly a shock that AMC’s “Mad Men” won for the second year in a row for drama series and “30 Rock” won for the third consecutive year for comedy series, repeat wins in drama categories by Glenn Close for lead actress for FX’s “Damages” and Bryan Cranston for AMC’s “Breaking Bad” were not entirely expected.
