The Bachelor Pad Winners and their $250,000

September 14, 2010 by David · Leave a Comment

David Good and Natalie Getz won the finale and its $250,000 award. David Good, an entrepreneur, said “It feels fantastic and surreal to be a hundred-thousandaire. I hope I wake up tomorrow and it’s still real.” Getz, a bartender, was not sure of how her cast mates would vote, saying, “I kept doing the vote in my head trying to figure out who were our friends, but you don’t know what people would base their vote on.”

So how do they plan on spending the money? Good will use some to promote his upcoming book, The Man Code, as well as to finance a fun day for his hometown’s military families. Getz will use her half of the award to pay off student loans, start her own styling business and start a prostate cancer charity in honor of her dad.

Oscar Fashion Winners and Losers

March 8, 2010 by David · Leave a Comment

What the hell was going on last night? There were more fashion misses than hits! I tried like hell to see the good in it all but just couldn’t do it. Well, here are my pics for fashion hits:

Miley Cyrus rocked this beautiful shimmering dress. Very elegant and hip at the same time.

Maggie Gyllenhaal looked amazing in this strapless sheath. The the print and color were perfection.

Rachel McAdams also looked stunning in a similar dress to Maggie but hers was soft and sweeping. Way to go!

Now for the fashion misses:

What the hell is going on with the design over the boobs, Charlize? Almost but no cigar!

I thought one wanted to minimize the size of their hips, not accentuate them?

If she is the leader in fashion, I want to be in the other group!

My number one fashion loser, Zoe Saldana…It looked like colored animal tails at the bottom of her dress.

Emmy’s: Same Faces Win

September 21, 2009 by m.coonce · Leave a Comment

On an evening when there were several surprises in the junior categories, the major awards at the 61st Primetime Emmy Awards went to the same series and actors who won last year: 30 Rock for best comedy, Mad Men for best drama, and Bryan Cranston, Glenn Close and Alec Baldwin in their respective acting categories.

Toni Collette, who plays a mother with multiple personalities in the Diablo Cody’s comedic drama United States of Tara, was the sole Emmy newcomer in the major categories, winning best comedy actress over last year’s winner, Tina Fey.
