Sources say that Cheryl Cole has not only been ousted as a judge from the American version of ‘X Factor’, but has also lost her job on the British version as well.

Cole reportedly as refused to take any calls or have meetings with the producers of the show. “Cheryl will not be returning to the British ‘X Factor,’” a source said. “She hasn’t returned phone calls. And you can’t exactly negotiate with someone who won’t even speak to you.”

Kelly Rowland from the former band, Destiny’s Child, has been named the replacement for Cole on the British version of the show as well as Tulisa Contostavlos, the hip hop singer from N-Dubz.

Just last week Nicole Scherzinger of the Pussycat Dolls will no longer co-host the show, instead taking Cole’s spot on the judges panel of the U.S. version of ‘X Factor’.

Sources say Cole had gained some weight after battling malaria last year and was asked to lose “as much as two stones” (or 28 pounds) before appearing in front of American audiences. There had been rumors that she was told to get rid of boyfriend, Derek Hough of ‘Dancing With the Stars’, to improve her image.

Cheryl Cole has been dropped from the judges panel on the American version of Simon Cowell’s ‘The X Factor’. Cole was dropped and Pussycat Dolls’ lead singer Nicole Scherzinger has been named her replacement. Scherzinger served as a guest judge on the U.K. version of the show and impressed both the judges and producers.

Cole was in the British band, Girls Aloud in 2002. In 2008, she signed on to be a permanent judge on the ‘X Factor’ taking the place of Sharon Osbourne. Two years later, she went through a divorce with husband Ashley Cole, which was a very public turn in her life. During all of the cheating scandal, the fans came to love her more.

FOX will begin airing the show this fall. Cole quit the U.K. version of the show to focus on the U.S. version. There have been all sorts of rumors flying as to why Cole was replaced. Some sources say Cole and Paula Abdul did not have chemistry. However, Abdul posted on Twitter in May that Cole was “lovely”. Other reports say that FOX was afraid that the audience would have a hard time understanding her due to her accent.

The American version of ‘X Factor’ is scheduled to premier this fall and Simon Cowell has now confirmed that Mariah Carey will take part in the action, but not as a judge.

“I think Mariah will have a role on the live shows,” Cowell said during an interview. “I met her recently and she was on great form.”

Carey is due to give birth to her twins about a month from now, so she will not be able to join the show as a judge in September.

“Her idea was to be the judge of the judges, which only Mariah could come up with,” Cowell said. “She’ll be involved in some form. I literally adore her. I love her to bits.”

There has still been no word on who will take the third judge’s seat on ‘X Factor’, but Cowell is more focused on the auditions right now. He has made the announcement that he will be leaving the British ‘X Factor’ to concentrate on his new show in America.

The winner of ‘X Factor’ will receive a $5 million recording contract from Cowell’s Syco/SonyMusic label.

Reportedly, Fox has announced that the winner of the X Factor’s upcoming season will take home the biggest prize in the history of reality television. A record deal work $5 million and of course, fame! And to top it all off, it will star Simon Cowell. The network says it is the biggest guaranteed prize in television history. American Idol typically offers a $1 million record deal to its winners.

Talents as young as 12 can apply as well as late-bloomers as there is no age limit for this contest. “I like the idea that a 12-year-old on this show can compete with an older singer and a singing group,” Cowell said. “I’ve never believed there should be a cut-off age for talent, and we are going to put our money where our mouths are with the $5 million recording contract. I’m doing this show in America because I genuinely believe we can find a superstar.”

Auditions for the show kick off in Los Angeles on March 27. Remember, if you plan to audition, be prepared for the Cowell humiliation that can and will come for many. Dates have not been released for other auditions, but they will be making their way through Chicago, Dallas, Miami, New York/New Jersey and Seattle.

Kate Thornton mad at simon cowell

Kate Thornton says Simon Cowell fired her to drum up publicity for the ‘X Factor’ show. Kate refuses to watch the show, saying, “I’ll never talk to Simon again.”

Sounds to me like someone is just bitter that she got fired. Seriously, does Kate think she is the reason why people watched the show? Get over it already.
