Tyra Banks on her last season

“This will be the last season of ‘The Tyra Show,’ ” Ms. Banks told People. “I’ve been loving having fun, coming into your living rooms, bedrooms, hair salons for the past five years.” After its debut in 2005 “The Tyra Banks Show” quickly built a following on the strength of Ms. Banks’s celebrity as a supermodel and reality TV star, her prolific use of the word fierce and her willingness to take on potentially divisive subjects. In November of that year she made headlines for a segment in which she donned a fat suit to look as if she weighed 350 pounds to demonstrate how she was treated differently by strangers. The show won Daytime Emmy Awards in the outstanding talk show (informative) category in 2008 and 2009.
