U.S. Softball: Lose to Japan and Take Silver

August 21, 2008

U.S. Softball
With softball not returning in the next Olympics, the U.S. Team hoped they would continue their streak and take home gold but the Japanese Team had other ideas.

The U.S. ladies were a strong force in the tournament winning eight games and were favored to be gold medalists coming into the game before the 1-3 upset.

By the fourth inning, Japan had secured two runs and even though Crystl Bustos placed a hit into the stands, the team couldn’t keep the streak going.

Japan took home gold, the U.S. took silver and Australia won bronze.
