Winners: 2008 Country Music Awards
The 43rd Annual Academy of Country Music Awards took place in Las Vegas last night with lots of glittery stars to walk the orange carpet. Keith Urban and pregnant wife Nicole Kidman were there. Along with Carrie Underwood, LeAnn Rimes, Taylor Swift, Kenny Chesney and many more.
Here are the winners:

— Top male vocalist: Brad Paisley
— Top female vocalist: Carrie Underwood
— Top vocal group: Rascal Flatts
— Top vocal duo: Brooks & Dunn
— Top new male vocalist: Jack Ingram
— Top new female vocalist: Taylor Swift
— Top new duo or vocal group: Lady Antebellum
— Album of the year: ”Crazy Ex-Girlfriend,” Miranda Lambert
— Single record of the year: ”Stay,” Sugarland
— Song of the year: ”Stay,” Sugarland (Jennifer Nettles, composer)
— Video of the year: ”Online,” Brad Paisley (Jason Alexander, director)
— Vocal event of the year: ”Find Out Who Your Friends Are,” Tracy Lawrence with Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney
Kenny Chesney caused a stir after winning the fan-voted Entertainer of the Year award saying the award has been made “into a sweepstakes to see who can push people’s buttons the hardest on the Internet. … “It really diminishes the integrity of the music.”
This is Chesney’s fourth consecutive win and he is one of only four artists to have won the award three of more consecutive times. (Alabama- 5 consecutively, Garth Brooks- 4 consecutively, and Hank Williams Jr.- 3 consecutively.)
Garth Brooks took home the first-ever Crystal Milestone Award given to an artist or industry leader to commemorate a specific, remarkable achievement. Brooks has sold 128 million units and has been certified the top-selling solo recording artist in U.S. history. He is the only artist to have six albums top the 10 million mark in RIAA history.
