Zooey Deschanel and Ben Gibbard Are Now Engaged

Zooey Deschanel (Elf, Yes Man) and her Death Cab For Cutie frontman boyfriend, Ben Gibbard, are now engaged to be married.

The news started on the web with reports of Deschanel, 28, being engaged to AFI bassist Hunter Burgan but now a source close to the couple confirms that she is actually planning to walk down the aisle with Gibbard, 32.

The proposal came the weekend before Christmas and will be the first marriage for both.

The two have been reportedly dating for about a year and were spotted in August performing together for an Obama fundraiser.
