Celebrity nail art inspiration

When we’re bored of our own style, looking for a stand-out outfit for an event, or want to change up our day-to-day outfits, we often turn to celebrities for inspiration. There are a number of influencers that always look impeccable, including Amal Clooney, Victoria Beckham and Priyanka Chopra – to name just a few. However, it’s not just their clothes that we tend to keep an eye on, it’s their nails, too. Celebrities always have terrific talons that they like to show off on the red carpet, which are often their best accessory.

If you would like to jazz your own fingernails up soon, follow in the footsteps of the below celebrities. With salons temporarily closed due to Covid-19, we will also provide some advice as to how you can create these looks yourself at home.

Billie Eilish

At the Oscars, eccentric artist Billie Eilish wore a set of elongated black square acrylics, which featured eye-catching diamanté crystals. While they weren’t too over-the-top, they certainly provided the perfect finishing touch.

Cynthia Erivo

With midnight blue swirls and stunning crystal stars, Cynthia Erivo certainly showed us how it’s done with her nail art, which featured a take on Vincent Van Gogh’s iconic ‘Starry Night’ painting. If you too have a love for art, you could attempt your own version!

Blake Lively

Frequently featured at the top of the best-dressed list, Blake Lively never forgets about her nails, either. Recently spotted with multi-coloured negative space nail art to match her bright green suit, she’s definitely one to take inspiration from when you want to make your own fingers look beautiful.

Pamper yourself with your very own manicure

During lockdown, it’s important that you continue to take care of yourself and enjoy some ‘me’ time. Pour a drink, have a nice hot bath and when you get out, prepare the essentials to give yourself a well-deserved manicure.

In your toiletry bag, you’ll need a nail file, buffer, base coat, top coat, nail art kit, nail polish correcting pen, variety of colours, glitter and studs. If you would like to use gel polish, you will also need an LED lamp to harden the formula for longer lasting results.

Start by removing any current nail polish, then file and buff them to your preferred shape. After that, apply your base coat, before allowing that to try. Then comes the fun part! Whether you’d like stripes, hearts, stars, animals or dots, you can try your hand at a number of different designs. Play around with colours and patterns, before applying a top coat and allowing them to dry.
